Ollie's Dolly is the creation of Shropshire born and bred Sally Whelan.
Growing up in the country side lead a curious, and scruffy haired little girl to begin crafting things useing curious and scruffy materials!
At 18 she turned her back on education, determind to carve a future for herself, by herself. Now a slightly older, curious scruffy girl living in London, she has stumbled upon her dream career designing and making her very own, very unique pieces of jewellery inspired by her surroundings, upbringing, and of course Ollie.
I try to incorporate the most unusual and scrappy things that I can find. Old fabrics found on beaches which have been aged and softened by the sea, tree bark, miniature glass bottles, moss, crab claws, ribbons, old, well loved, or miss treated toys, which always strike a chord with me, and anyone who has ever had a beloved toy that they held on to a little longer than they should have! This is the philosophy behind my stuff. Each piece is made to be touched, fiddled with, admired and questioned, and most importantly, for you to add your own items to as you find them. Creating a truly individual and personal item of jewellery that tells its very own story.
